Doodling Minds supports children in building confidence, emotional resilience, and mental wellbeing, and helps parents understand the meaning behind the behaviour they observe — an approach grounded in child psychology, life coaching, and years of practical classroom experience.
Vidya Krishnan, Founder
Vidya's career in children's education spans more than eight years. She began teaching primary-age students in Bangalore, India, before relocating to the Netherlands, where her passion for early childhood development led her to found and direct Doodles Pre School in Amstelveen. In that role, she oversaw curriculum design and parent partnership, and cultivated a deep, individualized understanding of each child in her care. That hands-on foundation, paired with formal training in child psychology and coaching, now shapes the practice at Doodling Minds.
Beyond her professional work, Vidya is the author of Half Home, Somewhere Else, a memoir on the expatriate experience. The same qualities that define her coaching — attentiveness to change, transition, and belonging — run through this writing as well, offering a fuller picture of the perspective she brings to her work with children and families.
Together, her training in child psychology and life coaching forms the foundation of Doodling Minds' mental health & emotional wellbeing coaching.

As a parent, I was worried about my girl, who was going through academic pressure and emotional issues. Doodling Minds – Vidya really helped my daughter, and she felt good after the sessions.
— Parent of a daughterI was going through many types of emotional conflicts for a long time. It was affecting my mental health and also my personal life, so I started taking sessions with Vidya. Since talking with her my life has changed. I know it sounds cheesy, but she really has changed the way I think about myself and my life. She has helped me work on areas of my life that I needed to but wasn’t ready to dig into. She listens to my concerns and offers advice to help me be an effective person.
— Adult coaching clientI was connected with Vidya online, and from the very first session she made me feel safe. It wasn’t just about talking, it was about being understood. She listened with patience, asked meaningful questions, and helped me explore emotions I didn’t even know how to express. Being heard without judgment was incredibly powerful.
— Online coaching clientVidya helped my child get school-ready by creating a mock interview and helping her confidently express herself. She also helped us understand that children need their own time to develop.
